I don’t know about you, but Mondays have always been my worst enemies. I never thought just one day of the week could ruin my mood so much, and I let it! Since then, I’ve learned to embrace them and I actually look forward to Mondays now, and you can too! Here are my tips on how to survive Mondays and make them the best day of the week!
Go To Bed Early
If you’re like me, I’m pretty useless if I don’t get my full eight hours of sleep. Turning in a bit early gives you the chance to get a full night’s rest, giving you a better chance to tackle the day! I try to go to bed around 10 or so on Sunday nights, just so I have enough time to recharge for the next day!
Take A Steamy Shower
Nothing makes me hate Mondays more than feeling like a gross mess. Coming out of a nice hot shower puts me in a whole new mood. I’m clean, refreshed, and ready to tackle the day! Plus I get to practice my shower singing haha. Also, try using a new shampoo or a great smelling body wash. Satisfying the most senses as possible is a great way to get you in a fabulous mood.
Organize Your Life The Night Before
Getting up in the morning is the worst, especially if you don’t have anything ready for the day ahead! I don’t want to be putting my backpack together at 7 AM. I’m losing out on good sleep! Sunday night, try and take some time just get your life together. Lay out your clothes, finish your homework, study for that test you have in a few days! Make your list of things to do shorter so you aren’t stressing. Sunday night I always make sure I have everything I need for the next day in my backpack. How embarrassing would it be to show up to class without my assignments? Kinda humiliating. It takes literally ten minutes to just make sure all my books and folders are in my bag right where they should be. Ten minutes I could be sleeping in the next day!

Have Something To Look Forward To
Mondays can be a drag because it can be one of the most boring days. The work grind has restarted and there’s always stuff to be done. Mondays just aren’t fun. But they don’t have to be lame! Find something to look forward to at the end of the day! Recently everyone in the sorority house has been watching Bachelor in Paradise every Monday night and girls wait all week for that night! Watch a good movie Monday night or get your nails done every Monday. No matter how big or small, find an activity you love to do and schedule it for Mondays.
Plan A Day Of Great Meals
Food always puts me in a good mood, so why not eat my favorite meals on Monday? A good meal not only puts you in a good mood but can keep you energized throughout the whole day. My favorite food of all time is popcorn, so I always make sure to have a bag handy when Monday comes around, cause it’s my treat yourself snack! There are tons of creative ways you can take advantage of this tip, whether you decide to go out to eat every Monday or just cook your favorite breakfast or small dish.
Wear A Fun Outfit
Got a favorite outfit you want to rock? Wear it on Mondays! I always feel so much better when I look good, and it boosts my confidence through the roof. I’m a big fan of skater skirts and denim skirts lately because they can be a casual outfit and a formal outfit. So try something new! Or if you’re wanting to wear something a little more comfortable, a big t-shirt and leggings are also a route you can take.
Have A Great Playlist
Good music always puts me in a good mood. Every morning I get ready in the sorority house bathroom and turn the radio on full blast. Hearing an upbeat song is a great pick me up and motivates me to get work done. Make your own playlist of your favorite songs and listen to it on the ride to school or your walk to class. Currently, I’ve been loving Taylor Swift’s new single “Look What You Made Me Do”. Totally something different I never thought I’d like but it always seems to put me in a good mood! Find your favorite songs and don’t be afraid to put them on repeat all day.
Take A Break
Relax! It’s Monday, so if you don’t accomplish everything you wanted to get done, it’s okay, because you have all week! Take a break, watch your favorite Netflix show, take a nap, have a game night. It’s okay to have a little time off!
